Letter from the Executive Director

Anne Tuccillo

April 2025

Dear Pawfectly Delicious Community,

Benjamin Franklin once said, β€œTo do well, you must do good.” This quote has always resonated with me, reflecting the values and meaning I find in life. As a nonprofit, Pawfectly Delicious Dog Treats embodies these values, setting an example in the community through our actions and advocacy.

For the past 55 years, we have celebrated Earth Day on April 22, a day dedicated to appreciating the gifts of our beautiful planet and highlighting the urgent need to care for it better.

As a small social enterprise, we rely heavily on the generosity and support of our community. We've thoughtfully considered how we can give back and support environmental change in a lasting and proactive way. Over a year ago, we decided to switch our treat packaging to 100% compostable material. While this decision was straightforward, implementing it required significant financial resources. Green technology and products can cost 50% or more than their non-green counterparts.

We are grateful for the support from grant funds provided by the John J. Pohanka Family Foundation and the Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation, which have recognized our sustainability goals and funded our transition to 100% plastic-free packaging. Pawfectly Delicious is committed to sustainability, and we will allocate funds from treat revenue, donations, and our fundraiser Paws & Pours, to ensure our sustainability goals are met.

We appreciate the positive feedback from the community on our new packaging. By choosing to support our mission through purchasing our treats, you are also supporting our efforts to take small steps to improve the environment. By choosing to do good, you help Pawfectly Delicious Dog Treats do well.

With gratitude and appreciation,

Anne
